Step 1: Before starting: check eligibility and slots

Step 2: Fill the application in one sitting

  1. Complete the form within the session time to avoid expiry.
  2. Save the application number as soon as it is generated.
  3. If the session expires, resume with the application number.

Step 3: Pay via eSewa or Khalti correctly

  1. At the payment step, choose eSewa or Khalti.
  2. You will be redirected to the wallet login; complete within 15 minutes.
  3. Ensure your wallet has enough balance — the passport fee varies by type.

Step 4: If payment fails, do this first

  1. Do NOT retry immediately — wait 10 minutes to avoid double charges.
  2. Clear browser cache/cookies and disable ad-block.
  3. Try the other payment method (eSewa vs Khalti) if one fails.

Step 5: Payment deducted but no appointment?

  1. Wait 30 minutes and refresh the ‘My Application’ page.
  2. If still missing, screenshot the receipt and the application number.
  3. Contact the DoIA help desk (email on nepalpassport.gov.np) with both.

Step 6: Print appointment slip

  1. Once payment reflects, open the appointment schedule.
  2. Select your district and preferred date.
  3. Print or screenshot the appointment slip — required at the counter.
